DayBrk is a free, personalized surf forecast. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it. We keep it simple because we don't do anything complicated with your data.

What we collect

If you create a DayBrk account, we collect your name and email address, the surf spots you save, and the preferences you set (things like minimum wave height, wind tolerance, and drive time) so DayBrk can score sessions for you. If you turn on push notifications, we store a notification subscription so we can alert you about good conditions. If you're not signed up yet and just join the early-access list, we collect only your email address for that. We don't use tracking pixels, third-party analytics, or ad networks on this site.

Signing in with Google

DayBrk offers "Continue with Google" as a sign-in option. We use it only to authenticate you — we receive your name, email address, and profile photo. We do not request or access your Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Contacts, or Google Drive/files. If we ever add a feature that needs any of that (for example, calendar-aware scheduling), we'll ask for that permission separately and explain exactly what it's for before you grant it — it will never be bundled into sign-in.

DayBrk's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Why we collect it

Your account details and preferences are used to score surf sessions against what actually matters to you, remember your saved spots, and — if you opt in — notify you when conditions look good. Your email is also used to notify you when new features launch and to send occasional product updates. We won't email you more than we need to.

Who we share it with

We use Supabase to host our database and authentication, and MapTiler for location search. If you enable push notifications, your browser's push service (e.g. Google or Apple) delivers them. We don't sell your data. We don't share it with advertisers. We don't share it with anyone who doesn't need it to operate this service.

How long we keep it

We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. If you joined the early-access list, we keep your email until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it — every email we send includes an unsubscribe link.

Your rights

You can ask us to delete your account and data at any time. Just email us and we'll take care of it promptly.

Cookies

This site doesn't use advertising or tracking cookies. We use only the technical storage necessary to keep you signed in.

Children

DayBrk is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

If we make material changes to this policy we'll update the date at the top. As the product grows, this policy will grow with it.
